At Vancouver Island University, I am Professor Emeritus,
and an Associated Scholar in and former Director of the Alexandro Malaspina Research Centre,
In June 2017 I retired as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences,
Co-ordinator of Liberal Studies Abroad,
a member of the Liberal Studies Department,
an associate member of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies,
a former research associate in the Institute of Practical Philosophy, and a member of Senate.

I teach and volunteer for Mid-Island Elder College and Comox Valley Elder College, and am the President of and a Group Leader for the educational travel association Adventures in Mind. I support Radio Malaspina and play/umpire for the Cowichan XL Cricket Club.
